Updating DUO MFA on a new phone with the same phone number

NOTE: These steps will only work if your new new phone has the same phone number as the previous phone connected to Duo MFA for UCLA Logon. 

1. Download the Duo Mobile App on your new phone. 


2. On a separate computer or tablet, visit https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu/#/ and click on sign in. 



3. Sign in to UCLA Logon.



4. When the Duo Push window comes up, select "Other options" 

Select "Text message passcode" to text the registered phone number a passcode to authenticate Duo. 

Enter the code that is texted to your phone. 



5. In the "My Accounts" box, click "Manage Multi-factor Authentication for My UCLA Logon ID"


6. Under the section "Multi-factor Authentication," click "Manage your MFA devices"


 7. Click on the old phone with the same phone number device still connect to your account. 


8. Click on "Reactivate Duo Mobile App"


9. Follow the steps described on your new phone's Duo Mobile app to sync the account to your new phone. You will scan the QR code on your computer screen with your phone's Duo Mobile app.
